Clomp, clomp, clomp. The sound of gumboots on the new fallen snow as they each grabbed shovel to move the heaps - Slushy had really done it this year. Prisoners, big ones, small ones, fat ones, thin ones all shoveling away.
Being mistaken for a man is quite degrading, but Bonnie never really took it to heart (well she had Clyde). It was coming up to nine o clock, and was very dark. The only light was from the dim street lamps and even her cell looked pretty cosy from here.
"Okay let's pack it up" bellowed Officer Kaiiko, his voice so loud in the nearly silent night. Bonnie and Clyde's ears pirked up, finally dinner. Kaiiko walked by pointing the prisoners one by one as he walked by to put the shovel back in the shed. But Bonnie wasnt allowed to go inside.
"Keep shoveling kid." said Kaiiko putting Bonnie down. She watched the others pile in to the warm building as she stood there shovel in hand.

Cyde sat in the cafeteria watching Bonnie pace back and forth in the snow until about eleven o clock. Bonnie sat down in the snow and curled up in an attempt to maintain some body heat. She was shivering, she was so cold, so hungry and the snow on her jumpsuit had frozen on her back. She was tiring herself by trying to stay awake.
The guilt was killing Clyde, it was midnight now and he was in his cell plotting, just so he could be with Bonnie, so if she dies she wont be alone.
Clyde couldn't help it, he activated his arm and cut through the bars and ran to the doors barging past all the guards - most of them asleep - to find Bonnie curled up almsot frozen to death. Clyde hugged her, nearly crying with tears of relief that she was alive.
"I'm s-so cold" Bonnie sobbed, she looked up in to Clyde's eyes.
"It's okay lil' B" assured Clyde. "we'll make it!" He pulled out a clean sock from his pocket and put it over Bonnie's head and used the other as a single glove for her. Out of his other pocket he pulled out a candy cane
"It's Officer Kaiiko's candy cane, he ain't ate it yet." said Clyde. Each taking their turn they took turns to lick the candy.

The night was long, and it was approaching five o clock in the morning and they had both just about had enough, so they snuck past the sleepy guard at the gate. Hand in hand, they ran to a large tree just out of the sight of kokawa jail.
"Clyde, folks are gonna know were from the slammer!" Bonnie hissed.
"Well, just take the jumpsuit and the gumboots off." replyed Clyde "Well? We got fur ain't we? It's not as if your goin' nude Bonnie! She rolled her eyes, they took of the suits and shredded them until they were barely recognisable.

They were walking through the backstreets for some time, until daylight at least. It was still dark for the time in the morning but the steets seemed unusually crowded. Bonnie and Clyde were looking round and a massave tree covered in spectacular twinkling lights caught Bonnie's eye. They stood there taking in the beauty of it.
"That's a big tree" Said Clyde "It's beautiful" Bonnie replied
"Almost as beautiful as you Bonnie." said Clyde. Everything around them seemed to vanish and Bonnie felt her stomach tickle as Clyde leant closer. They were face to face and he kissed her, the world was warm. Clyde looked into Bonnie's deep blue eyes, he leant to whisper into Bonnie's ear.
"Merry Christmas"
She laughed in return. "I love you too Clyde"
